We are strong because of our volunteers. AIGA Minnesota is 100% volunteer-run and in the past 12 months more than 170 AIGA members have volunteered for the chapter in some capacity – their passion is the lifeblood of the organization. You’re already a part of AIGA. You commit your resources to membership and participate in chapter programming. Consider the next step and volunteer to make your mark. Director of Legacy Programming

The Director of Legacy Programming oversees the programming for AIGA Minnesota’s legacy programs, including Design Camp, Luncheons, Design Show, and Insights.

Director of Development

The Director of Development sets the strategic framework for chapter development goals and opportunities and leads the development committee to meet those goals. This person helps the Chapter’s efforts to identify, pursue, and secure sponsorship partners, and ensures that partnership agreements are being fulfilled.

Director of Design Impact

The Director of Design Impact oversees Chapter programming, initiatives, and operations that serve to demonstrate, protect, or increase the impact of design as a professional craft, strategic tool, and vital cultural force.

Associate Director of Design for Good

The AD of Design for Good develops and nurtures relationships across a broad range of organizations to promote involvement of designers in social problem solving. This person is responsible for seeking partnerships and collaborations with other organizations for the purposing of broadening our impact as designers.

Associate Director of Archives

The role of the archivist is to be the guardian of the memories, materials, and records that have shaped and continue to shape the identity of AIGA Minnesota. This includes collecting copies of all AIGA Minnesota communication materials for archiving and making appropriate information easily accessible to users such as board members and committee chairs.

Associate Director of Development

The Associate Director of Development works with the Director of Development to identify, pursue, and secure in-kind development partners in order to meet Chapter development goals.

Contact Leadership

Katrin Loss
Katrin Loss
A member of AIGA since 1999, Katrin served on many committees and in a variety of roles for the Minnesota chapter since 2002, including chairing the Luncheon Lectures series from 2003–2010 and volunteering on the Design Show committee since 2010. In 2007, she joined AIGA Minnesota’s board of directors as the Associate Director, Luncheons and, in 2011, was named “Volunteer of the Year.” Most recently, Katrin served as AIGA Minnesota’s Vice President for two years, including overseeing the Programming Council. Prior to that, she served as AIGA Minnesota’s Director of Operations for five years overseeing and improving systems and processes in support of AIGA Minnesota’s numerous and diverse programming needs and co-chaired the 2014 AIGA Minnesota Design Show.

An award-winning art director/designer with extensive experience in brand development, Katrin currently works in-house for Best Buy’s Brand Design team. Katrin is a graduate of Minneapolis College of Art and Design with a BFA in graphic design, and also holds a degree in business administration and international trade from Staatliche Handelsschule in Hamburg, Germany. A strong creative leader with analytical skills, her background in design and business coupled with experience working and living in the U.S. and Europe permits a unique global perspective.

An active member of the design community for over 10 years, Katrin currently serves on MCAD’s Alumni Association Board of Directors.
