Design for Good: The Common Table 2016 State Fair Exhibit
Calling All Designers!
AIGA Minnesota Design for Good is collaborating again this year with The Common Table to produce the 2016 “Minnesota Eats” exhibit at the Minnesota State Fair. “Minnesota Eats” is an educational exhibit dedicated to raising awareness about the sustainable food movement and this will be the third year we have been featured at the State Fair. Photo by Scott Streble Please check out this link to learn more about The Common Table and last year’s exhibit: http://www.commontablemn.org/. The display is divided into 6 separate exhibits. Design is needed for each of the 6 exhibits, plus wayfinding/signage.
- Grow Food
- Eat Local
- Buy Local
- Reduce Food Waste
- Promote Food Justice
- Nurture Healthy Soil
Responding to feedback from last year’s designers, we have tweaked our design process this year: We will divide designers into 7 teams of 2 each, giving each participant more input into the final design and design teams will not be starting from scratch, but rather, working with existing exhibits to improve their impact. These changes should make the time commitment more manageable and rewarding. If you are interested, please respond to Sandy Wolfe Wood and Linda Henneman, co-chairs of the AIGA Minnesota-Common Table Collaboration [email protected]. Please include the following:
- One or two portfolio items
- Why you’re interested in this project
- First and second choices of which exhibit area you want to work on
Deadline for submission: Friday, March 25
