Available Scholarships
AIGA MINNESOTA SCHOLARSHIP: $1,500 (two available)
These scholarships are made possible through AIGA Minnesota and its members. AIGA Minnesota is the fourth largest chapter by membership, but regarded as the second-most active membership nationally in terms of events, committee work, and membership participation.

The Minnesota recipients of the Fellow Award, which is the highest honor an AIGA chapter may bestow on one of its members, have generously increased their scholarship this year because they are looking for a student with exceptional leadership and volunteer experience. To be eligible for this scholarship, you must answer an additional question emailed to you along with the essay question.

This scholarship is awarded to honor the contributions of senior designers to the graphic design profession through business, teaching, volunteering and leadership.

This scholarship is made possible through a donation by Franke+Fiorella—a leading brand identity design consultancy. They build iconic brands for local and multinational clients through thoughtful brand strategy and engaging identity design.

Smartpress is a premium online printing company for creative professionals and will be looking to award their scholarship to an exceptional print portfolio.

Monica Little is the founder of Little and received an AIGA Fellow award in 2012. This year, Monica is sponsoring a scholarship which will honor a portfolio strong in production art / production design skills.

Applicants for these awards will be judged on their portfolio of work and their written essay(s). One recipient will be chosen for each award and scholarships will be presented during Portfolio 1-on- 1 on April 12, 2018. Winners are expected to be present to receive their awards. The judges will be evaluating eligible candidates on the following criteria:

Conceptual Skill: Ability to develop ideas beyond the basics of an assignment
Creative Skill: Expression of innovation and imagination
Craft: Attention to detail, execution, and presentation
Communication: Ability to communicate your ideas clearly both within your portfolio and submitted essay

Scholarship winners are required to send a PDF of their portfolio to [email protected]
