We are currently searching for candidates to serve on the AIGA Minnesota Board of Directors in the following two roles. Interested AIGA members in good standing are encouraged to apply. After an initial round of brief interviews, nominated applicants will be chosen for appointment by majority vote of the board.

Directors serve on the board for two-year terms with voting rights. In addition to committee duties, Directors are expected to attend monthly board meetings (held in Minneapolis on the second Wednesday of every month from 6:30–8:30pm) and maintain an active presence at AIGA Minnesota activities and programming.

DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS

Purpose of position

To oversee Chapter communications and ensure communications efforts are in alignment with the AIGA mission and local purpose statement. Lead communications efforts / teams to ensure the Chapter speaks with one clear voice that is in the best interest of the Chapter and consistent with AIGA ethics and communications guidelines. Oversee strategic Chapter communications planning by ensuring each audience – direct and indirect – is considered with respect to relationships, resources and desired outcomes under Chapter purpose statement.

CO-DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION

Note that this position works in conjunction with John Vorwald, AIGA Minnesota’s other Co-Director of Education.
Purpose of position
To oversee the chapter’s education activities, by developing and nurturing relationships between AIGA Minnesota and regional educators, schools, student groups and students. To act as an advisor to and liaison between the chapter board, educators and students to ensure that chapter activities address critical education issues and student needs. To supervise and work with the student representative to ensure that chapter programs and communications strategies offer educationally enriching opportunities. To ensure that AIGA Minnesota’s education objectives are aligned with AIGA national initiatives as well as our chapter’s purpose statement.
