Eyebobs came to Clockwork because their previous site lacked their brand and products’ unique personality. They define themselves as “irreverent and slightly jaded” and they wanted their website to reflect this look and feel. Clockwork’s job was to put the eyebobs (the eye glasses) on center stage and give them a personality and voice through the design.

We used a bold color palette along with contrasting blocky and playful fonts to communicate a strong message to support the glasses. This idea was received very well by eyebobs and they have continued to bring new and different taglines to the homepage gracefully.

Online shopping should be a pleasurable experience, especially when it’s for something as tangible as eyeglasses. Keeping that in mind, we wanted to create an experience similar to shopping in an eyeglass store, short of the site visitor being able to try them on (coming up in Phase 2). Searching for the perfect pair of glasses should be simple, quick and enjoyable and we accomplished this by creating a filtering system on the Eyewear page. The user can either see all of the glasses that eyebobs has to offer, or they can choose a few options to narrow their search. This, along with the quick view popup, allows the user to make quick, fluid decisions throughout the experience.

    Delivery of Work

The site launched and all of a sudden eyebobs was digitally “Irreverent and Slightly Jaded”. The site was shared via multiple social media channels, so popular that even Oprah Winfrey and Katie Couric are talking about them!

    The Results

The client is thrilled with the new site and they are able to maintain it with ease. The process for adding new product and keeping the look and feel consistent has proven to be a success. The amount of time they spend updating the website has shrunk as a result and keeping the consistent voice, along with the new look and feel, has been easy for them to maintain.

Most importantly, conversions have doubled, proving that our new shopping process is effective in completing a sale.
