Student Work

Galvan

By Lauren Thorson

The Idea

Galvan Typeface was developed out of the need for a one-stroke typeface that could be easily reproduced on a mechanical vinyl plotter. Pushing away from traditional use of a plotter as vinyl cutter, and into a drawing machine or sorts, the plotter as producer gives the typeface an interesting visual look.

Delivery of Work

This work has not yet reached the masses.

The Results

Galvan has produced a solution to the generation of typography on a mechanical plotter. Moving the traditional output of outlined letterforms, to a one stroke, clean look for the generated text.
