The Ivey Awards, a group of Twin Cities theater aficionados, was on the search for a creative partner to concoct a larger-than-life poster series to promote their annual awards ceremony. Enter FAME, stage left. The inspiration for the piece came from the big dreamers of the local theater scene. From actors and directors to designers and composers, the most talented and respected names in theater call the Midwest home. The posters created by FAME celebrate and honor the thespian community, paying homage to that very talent.

    Delivery of Work

The Ivey’s nonprofit status meant FAME had to rely on little more than wit, imagination and persistence to make the campaign posters a reality. Morphing into master convincers, we were able to nab the cream of the crop designers, make-up artists and even a crazy-good fashion photographer to help us in our endeavor. FAME created wow-worthy posters that show off the 2010 Ivey Award recipients in elaborate handcrafted garments. Like a dress made of thousands of sheets of delicate paper to depict the words of the actor. And another from a whopping 30 yards of fabric to represent the director’s curtain call.

    The Results

The scene ends with a successful campaign and roaming art exhibit in one, a sold-out Ivey Awards celebration and a standing ovation from creative industry heavy-hitters.
