At Target Headquarters, October is Design Month. 2011’s theme was, “Where do ideas come from?” Being a design-centric company (with deep pockets) you can imagine the caliber of talent they’re able to bring in and speak. That said, those speaking engagements deserve a fair amount of promotion. In past years, that promoting was always done with a simple poster campaign. This year, we had something more in mind. The brief asked us to answer one question: “where do ideas come from?” We answered with a single word: HERE. (Meaning, everywhere. Which is exactly where these elements lived.)
Delivery of Work
Desk drops ensured Target employees all had a stack of “propaganda.” Then, like a swarming red & khaki guerilla street team, they were encouraged to blanket the corporate campus (as well as the skyways and streets) with “HERE” stickers, post-its, buttons and posters.
The Results
Every session was well-attended and “HERE” elements still continue to appear around corporate headquarters.
-Economy: Unknown
-People: Capacity attendance at each speaker session
-Environment: Unknown
-Culture: The “Here” stickers made their way around the city. We still see them stuck to coffee shop tables and stall walls at local coffee shops.
