Toss Restaurant is a fictional salad bar style restaurant in Downtown Minneapolis. The biggest problem the design aims to solve is that people see salads as dull, boring, and only for dieters. The design uses colorful and fun illustrations to show how exciting salads are at Toss. The illustrations are inspired by Matisse. His art portrays the world in bold lines, bright colors, and wonderfully imperfect form. Controlled messiness is part of what makes salads beautiful, and therefore, is the concept behind the illustration style.

The other problem Toss faces is the fast paced atmosphere of the Minneapolis lunch hour. People need to get in and out. The use of tape for delivering the logo, website, and contact info allows employees to stick on all of that essential content onto their stationary and packaging quickly.

    Delivery of Work

Toss is a single establishment. To reach the Minneapolis lunch crowd, Toss focused on bus and metro advertising. The addition of the tape also allows the logo and contact information to travel with current customers and spread via word of mouth.

    The Results

This idea fills the need for a quick, casual, easy lunch destination that is provides healthful options. The concept for the ads highlights one of Toss's best selling points which is the infinite options available. Toss is the place to go if you and your friends all want something different or if you are catering a client lunch meeting and need to make sure everyone is happy with the food. The project is successful because overall it appeals to everyone looking for a bite on their lunch hour.
