AIGA Minnesota is thrilled to be hosting our annual Portfolio 1-on-1 this year both in-person and virtually.

Before embarking on your design career search, get invaluable critiques on your portfolio to set your work a step above the rest!

Get ready to showcase your skills and connect with top design professionals at AIGA MN’s annual Portfolio 1-on-1 event! This two-day, hybrid event offers invaluable career insights, critiques on your portfolio, and evaluation of your presentation skills. You’ll also get a glimpse of different types of work environments during studio tours and have the opportunity to submit your portfolio for scholarship awards. With workshops on relevant topics and a chance to network with potential employers, this event could be the first step towards your dream career!

Registration

By attending Portfolio 1-on-1, you embark on developing a network of professional contacts that will be valuable as you research the professional world where you will be seeking employment.
  • Learn firsthand what potential employers might specifically require of newly graduated professionals, and get guidance on further perfecting your portfolio.
  • Find out the pulse of the current design, digital, branding, advertising, and corporate trends and needs and potentially find your future mentor or even an employer.
Registration is divided into three tiers:
  1. Student Virtual Review Only Rate: $35
  2. Student AIGA Member Rate: $95
  3. Student Non-member Rate: $120

Attendance Scholarship

We invite you to apply for a Professional Scholarship to attend Portfolio 1-on-1 if you identify as a member of under-represented groups related to race/ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, ability status, age, socioeconomic class, and/or veteran status.

If you would like to apply for an attendance scholarship, please do not register!

Instead, please complete our scholarship application by Friday, March 31st, 2023.

*Attendance Scholarships include an annual membership to AIGA Minnesota.

Friday, April 21st, 9 a.m.–5 p.m.

  • 9 a.m.—Depart for Studio Tours from North Hennepin College
  • 2 p.m.—Return from Tours at North Hennepin College
  • 3:15 p.m.—Digital Reviews Begin
  • 5 p.m.—Faculty Forum Happy Hour at Little & Co.

Saturday, April 22nd, 9 a.m.–5 p.m.

Call for Reviewers

We’re currently looking for committed professional designers to review student portfolios.

We are planning for an entirely virtual reviews on April 21st from 3:15–5 p.m. and live reviews on April 22nd from 10 a.m.–5 p.m. We will be organizing the two days into :30-minute, 1-on-1 sessions and are asking reviewers to commit to a minimum of either the virtual reviewing and/or the live reviewing.

Hi, I'm a designer, illustrator, educator, and artist based in Minnesota.

After graduating from Alexandria Technical College in 2017, I went on to get my Bachelor's Degree from Bemidji State University with triple emphasis in exhibit design, graphic design, and studio arts. I graduated from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design in the spring of 2022 with my MFA.

Currently, I am an experience designer at X-FCTR. We are an agency that focuses on consumer engagement through both digital and live brand activations.
