Delivery

With a tip of the hat to printers and activists of the past, American Manifesto was produced in-house using vintage letterpress equipment. All 12 interior pages were printed with 3 colors on cotton stock with a 1 color cover print on wool paper.

The launch party was hosted at the Minnesota Center for Book Arts in conjunction with an AIGA Minnesota Cocktails with Creatives event where approximately 100 guests attended. Shortly after, Thyberg was invited to discuss American Manifesto during the morning show on a local radio station. He is continuing to seek out opportunities for new press coverage to continue the dispersal of his message encouraging social change.

American Manifesto is being sold at bottom dollar pamphlet pricing allowing for affordable access for all.

Concept

American Manifesto is a project born out of frustration regarding the declining health, environment, and leadership in the United States. Inspired by Thomas Paine’s contribution to the American Revolution, a powerful pamphlet titled Common Sense, Todd Thyberg applied for and received a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board to pursue his own pamphlet calling the American people to action on a number of today’s critical national concerns.

The main goal for the piece was to keep the information easily digestible in an engaging, quick read format. Thyberg’s design and letterpress studio tackled the project wholeheartedly and spent several months researching, designing and producing the pamphlet.

Results

American Manifesto has been receiving an overwhelmingly positive response. At the launch party, book sales were high and there were fantastic engaging conversations among guests regarding content, design, and production of the book. Following the radio spot, we also had a wave of inquiries and sales. The book is drawing attention from the creative community as well as the general progressive public.
