Delivery

Was there anything particularly unique or useful about how the idea was transported to “them”
“Them” are produce growers/suppliers, packers and shippers. This is a group who usually has to deal with the destructibility of coated corrugate boxes. These crates are the new answer to address these shipping container issues.

Concept

What was the problem and how did you solve it?
Our client has created a produce shipping crate that is made from recyclable plastics and far more superior than coated corrugate in strength, water resistance and overall usage longevity. This product now needed to be branded in a manner that played up its key benefits all in one name and brand visual.

How did your design brief read?
Brand communication via name;
– Environmentally based
– Product descriptive
– Trade mark-ability required
Visual Communication via mark
– Environmentally based
– Visually descriptive
– Distinct and memorable
What were your client discussions like?
There we a couple challenges in that they had a hard time approving brand names as they were challenged to envision them in their minds. At some point they just put their trust in us to bring a few of those names to life visually to demonstrate their effectiveness.

What were the inspirations behind your design?
– Environmentally conscious
– A way to address the issue with excess plastics in land fill
– A better solution for the earth and for us

The idea behind the work
We took the “environment ability” of this product quite seriously. This inspired the name, color palette, type font and very importantly – the icon in the center of the mark. We wanted that icon to be memorable and reflective of nature.

Results

What were the results? How did you project impact their business? How happy was the client?
The brand mark is now on over 100,000 crates being shipped to destinations all over the world. It is an easy sell to the produce target. Our clients are ecstatic.

Did you raise awareness or promote a cause?
For the sake of the environment, we sure hope so.
