Delivery

There were some connections with schools that offered language immersion classes. Once production was done we received a few bulk orders from them. We also have the books available at a few retailers in Minneapolis such as I Like You. In addition to that there's the option to buy from the website iknowhowtobooks.com and they're available on Amazon.

Concept

There’s a certain lack of books geared toward children entering into a language immersion program. Many of our schools in the Twin Cities offer immersion programs to kindergartners and above. Susanne the author (who also has children in language immersion) saw an opportunity to create a book that tells the story of a young girl on her first day at school in a language immersion program.

In addition to being fun the book had to be informative as well.
We worked closely with an immersion teacher at Excelsior Elementary here in Minnesota to make sure the story was printed in both Chinese and English. We also included over 70 vocabulary words within the illustrations. To recap on all the vocabulary there are a few worksheets as well that you can complete at the back of the book too.

The best feature about the I Know How To brand is that it’s designed to be very modular. With color, illustration and a few text changes we can carry the book design through any language. Already we have a Spanish version of the book, “I Know How to Hola” printed and an ebook in production, and a French version, “I Know How To Bonjour” ready to print.

Results

The results have been great. The book has been selling well and helping people learn the extremely difficult Chinese Language. The client loved it and we've been working together for about 2 and a half years now.
