We created a fully integrated experience from theme creation and pedal-fold invitation to the event décor and programming. Terrariums, café lighting, lush fabrics, and oversized paper florals became main elements seen throughout. The stage was equally dramatic with a framed LED screen and chandeliers. Before Josh Groban closed the evening in an amazing performance, 100+ TreeHouse teens made an emotional procession through the crowd thanking donors that left many with tears of inspiration and joy.
A powerful and , emotional and tactile design aesthethic was needed to communicate the mission of what TreeHouse does at their annual fundraising gala: help at-risk teens transform their lives. “Bloom” was created with bold typography and one-of-a-kind (original?)original artwork featuring photography, watercolor and illustrations blended to resemble the beautiful transformation story of TreeHouse teens. Natural textures were chosen to bring the design theme to life throughout the physical space. The natural paper used in the print materials was reflected in the large paper florals, and watercolor look was reflected in stage design.. The watercolor illustration was evoked by the ruffled set fabric cast with colored light. These design choices brought a cohesive vision to the entire program that reflected the mission of the TreeHouse organization.
The gala set a record for funds raised for the organization. A sold-out audience of 1,000 supporters gathered to experience the transformation that happens when teens come to TreeHouse. “You truly outdid yourselves! You are amazingly talented people that listen incredibly well and choose to humbly honor your "clients" requests and desires with directness, creativity, honesty and wonderful collaborations. And the results are like what we saw last night — beyond our wildest dreams!!!”
