When it comes to portfolio reviews, the more the merrier

As one of the most active AIGA chapters in the nation, AIGA Minnesota is committed to representing everybody in the design community. If you’re planning to attend Portfolio 1-on-1® this Spring and identify as a member of an under-represented group, consider applying for one of our 2020 attendance scholarships. 

Applications for this year’s event are due by Wednesday, Feb 26th at 11:59pm. Write an essay (300 words or less) about why you want to attend Portfolio 1-on-1 and how you envision it will impact your design career/experience. You do not have to be a current student in order to apply. Winners will be notified before event registration opens.

What's included

  • Admission for Portfolio 1-on-1 2020
  • a one-year membership to AIGA
  • a small travel stipend to help with expenses

Who can apply

This scholarship is for designers who identify as members of under-represented groups. This includes:

  • race/ethnicity
  • gender identity
  • ability status
  • socioeconomic class
  • veteran status 

About Portfolio 1-on-1

Portfolio 1-on-1 is Minnesota’s premier student design conference where college juniors, seniors, and recent graduates tour premier design studios, attend breakout sessions led by industry pros, and receive professional critique of their portfolios by local designers.

Hi, I'm a designer, illustrator, educator, and artist based in Minnesota.

After graduating from Alexandria Technical College in 2017, I went on to get my Bachelor's Degree from Bemidji State University with triple emphasis in exhibit design, graphic design, and studio arts. I graduated from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design in the spring of 2022 with my MFA.

Currently, I am an experience designer at X-FCTR. We are an agency that focuses on consumer engagement through both digital and live brand activations.
