Board Members Are Elected by You
Several times a year, AIGA Minnesota welcomes new members to its board of directors to help shape the direction of the organization.
We are delighted to submit for your consideration and vote the following slate for the AIGA Minnesota board of directors.
A nominating committee has recommended the following individual for a 6-month term:
- Susan Seeley Roe, for President Elect

- McLean Donnelly, for Director of Career Practice
- Grant Hasbrouck, for Director of Communications

Susan Seeley Roe
Susan Seeley Roe has worked as an art director and graphic designer for the past 15 years. She recently moved back to Minneapolis, Minnesota from Tucson, Arizona where she was the Vice President of Tucson for AIGA Arizona. She also served on the board of directors of the Tucson Advertising Federation. Before founding Smart Pop Creative in 2012, Susan worked for Bolchalk Frey Marketing, Canyon Ranch and Gordley Group. She received her BFA in Graphic Design in 2001 from the Minneapolis College of Art & Design.
After being away from Minneapolis for the past 11 years, Susan is looking forward to connecting and getting involved with the AIGA Minnesota design community. In her free time, she enjoys photography, traveling, yoga, running, hiking and rediscovering Minneapolis with her husband and son, Thad and Sean Roe.
Most recently, Susan served as AIGA Minnesota’s Director of Development.
Heather Brooks
For as long as she can remember Heather has been a lover of color and pattern and a skilled problem solver. Design brought these two passions together and there has been no looking back. Currently in-house at a local nonprofit, Opportunity Partners, Heather spends her days designing print and digital materials to support the mission of advancing the quality of life for adults with disabilities.
Heather holds a BFA in graphic design from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire where she was encouraged to join AIGA as a student. In her free time, Heather is out enjoying all the wonderful places in the Twin Cities with her family, friends and dogs, Paisley and Guthrie.
For the past two years, Heather served as AIGA Minnesota’s Secretary.
McLean Donnelly
Prior to founding The Maker Group, McLean Donnelly was the Vice President of User Experience and Design for Shutterstock in New York City. Previously, he worked as a design leader for Expedia and CaringBridge.
As a seasoned UX Executive with an MBA, McLean is a unique hybrid that fuses user experience design with strategic business analysis, passionate about radically accelerating businesses. From Expedia, Shutterstock to skyrocketing startups, he has delivered awarding winning work with billions in revenue, reaching over 140 countries and 36 languages and for millions of customers.
McLean earned a Masters of Business Administration from the Opus School of Business and a Bachelors of Arts from Gettysburg College. He has served on several boards including the Lead Project and the Grand Avenue Business Association.
Grant Hasbrouck
Consistent with AIGA Minnesota’s bylaws, the proposed slate is submitted to the voting membership for ratification. Supporting-, sustaining-, design leader-, and trustee-level members of AIGA Minnesota in good standing are entitled to vote in board member elections; contributor-level members and non-members are not entitled to vote. The vote is either for or against the entire slate.
Ballots must be received no later than 5:00pm CST on Monday, July 9, 2018.
