What is CoCreate? And what will we do?
Making and creating can be an isolating practice. Designing, illustrating, building, coding, and many kinds of creative making happen alone and with the current health crisis, many of us are even more isolated. We need other creative people’s input and encouragement. We are inspired by other’s work.
We need to create together sometimes.
CoCreate with AIGA MN is a virtual creative-making jam session. During our CoCreate session, we will spend 30 minutes together working on a creative project. You can work on something inspired by this session’s theme or you can work on your own project. You can begin a theme-inspired creative project now or just work during the session.
All mediums and art forms are welcome. Think of this as open studio time: an opportunity to work together with other creatives and see what they are up to.
During the virtual session, our hosts will provide some creative inspiration related to the session’s theme to inspire ideas or different approaches. However, there won’t be instruction or presentation during the entire time. Participants can show work or ask for input. After 30 minutes we’ll have time for you to share what you’ve created.
We encourage you to share your work through social media: tag @aigaMN or use #inspireMN #cocreateAIGAMN.
To participate you must register for the Zoom meeting. Click here or the link above to register.
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
Sanctuary – the creative theme for this CoCreation Session
Theme: Sanctuary–where you get refreshed and refilled
In this time of social distancing and stay-in-place finding somewhere you can relax, feel safe and fill your spirit is especially important. Sanctuary is where you get refilled and refreshed. Your creativity may be your sanctuary. Or it may be your home. You may find it in nature, beauty, fitness or in a good cup of coffee. The theme is open to your interpretation.
We hope this CoCreate session will provide some inspiration for creativity. We’ll share some things that inspired us. And we look forward to seeing what you create.
