What is CoCreate? And what will we do?

Making and creating can be an isolating practice. Designing, illustrating, building, coding, and many kinds of creative making happen alone and with the current health crisis, many of us are even more isolated. We need other creative people’s input and encouragement. We are inspired by other’s work. We need to create together sometimes.

CoCreate with AIGA MN is a virtual creative-making jam session. During our CoCreate session, we will spend 45 minutes together working on a creative project. You can work on something inspired by this session’s theme or you can work on your own project. You can begin a theme-inspired creative project now or just work during the session. All mediums and art forms are welcome. Think of this as open studio time — an opportunity to work together with other creatives and see what they are up to. You can:

  • work in your sketchbook
  • illustrate something related to the theme

  • practice a skill you are learning
  • experiment with different techniques
  • get feedback
  • meet some new co-creators

During the virtual session, our hosts will provide some creative inspiration related to the session’s theme to inspire ideas or different approaches. However, there won’t be instruction or presentation during the entire time.

Participants can show work or ask for input. We will have time for you to share what you’ve created. We encourage you to share your work through social media: tag @aigaMN or use #inspireMN #cocreateAIGAMN.

To participate you must register for the Zoom meeting. Click here or the link above to register.  After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
