Driven by Passion:
How the filmmakers and co-owners of MindTwist Studio balance their business and art life

MindTwist Studio is a Minneapolis-based film and video production company that utilizes the power of filmmaking to raise mental health awareness, celebrate cultural identity, and fight for environmental justice. The co-owners Sebastian Schnabel and Cici Yixuan Wu originally came to the US from Germany and China as international students.

After graduation, they founded their own company and are now a husband and wife filmmaking team. They create video content for mission-driven clients and collaborate on fictional and documentary films as their own art. Come and learn about how they turned visa restriction into a motivator, found their client base in the pandemic, and navigated between client work and their art career.
