Driven by Passion:
How the filmmakers and co-owners of MindTwist Studio balance their business and art life

MindTwist Studio is a Minneapolis-based film and video production company that utilizes the power of filmmaking to raise mental health awareness, celebrate cultural identity, and fight for environmental justice. The co-owners Sebastian Schnabel and Cici Yixuan Wu originally came to the US from Germany and China as international students.

After graduation, they founded their own company and are now a husband and wife filmmaking team. They create video content for mission-driven clients and collaborate on fictional and documentary films as their own art. Come and learn about how they turned visa restriction into a motivator, found their client base in the pandemic, and navigated between client work and their art career.

Sebastian Schnabel

Sebastian is an artist at heart. He has limitless ideas and when he’s not writing or editing, he’s definitely thinking about new stories. With 15+ years of editing experience, he creates emotion-driven content with the client’s core values in mind.

Cici Yixuan Wu

Cici loves connecting with people. She makes sure their partners feel heard, projects run smoothly, and deadlines and budgets are met. She aims to put people at the center of every project and strives to convey messages that matter.

We hope you join us for an exciting Lunch & Learn with Sebastian and Cici.
