The work of Bureau Borsche seems to float effortlessly between contradictory worlds: the gridded rigidness of German newspaper design; the populist landscape of corporate clients such as Nike and BMW; the avant-garde experimentalism of the art world; and the luxurious conceptualism of fashion brands such as Balenciaga.

In all of these spheres, Borsche’s typography and art direction shines through, always fresh and always relevant. Other clients include Zeit Magazin, Kaleidoscope magazine, Rimowa, and Hay, as well as the German daily newspaper Die Zeit, which Borsche himself creative directs.

About the Insights Lecture Series

Insights is a design lecture series for progressive creatives. A unique collaboration between the Walker Art Center and AIGA Minnesota, the series embraces the unexpected to present diverse, exploratory, and contemporary lecturers.

Featuring perspectives from around the world, Insights gives voice to adventurous design thinkers and makers. These designers often pose challenges and push the edges of their profession, in turn inspiring us to identify new perspectives in our own work.

For over three decades, the Walker Art Center and AIGA Minnesota have co-presented the Insights Design Lecture Series and brought the world’s most adventurous design thinkers and makers to the Twin Cities.

Redefine your understanding of graphic design, dive into the thinking behind the work, then hang out after the lectures to meet the lecturers, grab a drink, and chat with your fellow design lovers.

Past lectures are archived on the Walker Art Center YouTube channel.
