Title: 1968 Exhibit Sponsor Project
Company: Little & Company
Category: Jamie Parker

The 1968 Exhibit Sponsor Project was my judge’s choice for a few reasons. First and foremost, the design is beautiful and simple. I love seeing design that repurposes found objects and elements of the past giving new life and meaning to the old. I think we’re always striving for “new” things but I always stop and wonder “is new necessarily better?”

Second, I found the design of the piece to be on target to the message and intent of promoting the 1968 Project. It was interesting to see the parallels that the designer found between 1968 and to that of “Museum 2.0: The Next Generation of History Exhibits”  — the simple fact that 1968 was an extraordinary year and that the new museum will be unlike any other exhibit that we’ve seen.

Lastly, the most appealing aspect of the design is the power of the human spirit. With simple images and messages told within a very short amount of pages, we get a glimpse of  the power (and weakness) of people, from the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. to Arthur Ashe’s win in the U.S. Open.
